BP Buys 9GW Of US Solar From 7X Energy For $220 Million

BP reached an agreement today to purchase 9GW of solar development projects in the US from independent US solar developer 7X Energy for $220 million. The acquisition is a step towards BP’s target of growing its net developed renewable generating capacity to 20GW by 2025 and aim to increase this to 50GW by 2030. The deal will also grow BP’s renewables pipeline from 14GW to 23GW.

 

A Permanent Art Installation That Would Produce 300 MWH Of Renewable Energy At Burning Man

Mumbai-based studio, called NUDES, designed an amazing piece named Solar Mountain which is intended to be displayed at Burning Man. Their creation would become a permanent piece and it features a series of solar panels that can generate 300 MWh of electricity per year. The panels start from a core which is the central spine of the installation and was inspired by the nature surrounding Fly Ranch, the festival’s spot.

 

Evergy Plans To Add 700 MW Of Solar In Kansas And Missouri By 2024

Evergy said it plans to add 700 MW of utility-scale solar in Kansas and Missouri by 2024 as part of its integrated resource plan, which the utility filed with Missouri state utility regulators in late April and Kansas regulators in late May.
